You do not photograph a place like this. You let it change the way you see.
These are small expeditions, never more than eight of us — twelve in Botswana. We move slowly, wait for the light, and stay long after the other vehicles have gone. I am beside you the whole time: at the viewfinder, over coffee before dawn, talking through the frame you almost made. What you carry home is not only photographs.
Where we are going
Four destinations across 2026, and next year we are expanding to breathtaking new locations. Places are always few, and a few dates are still being finalized.
Tanzania, Botswana, and Colombia are also open to those who would rather travel without a camera. The same days, the same light, a freer way to be there.

For thirty years I have made photographs in order to understand what I am looking at.
I formed myself between Parsons in Paris and the International Center of Photography in New York, and have spent the decades since with a camera between myself and the world — in the highlands of Bhutan, across the Serengeti, through the streets of Monterrey, Mexico, where I was born.
But the pictures I care about most were made opening my senses to new experiences, learning about the world around me, waiting for that special moment that touched my heart. There are places in this world that cameras rarely reach, and communities whose ways of seeing are disappearing quietly. I have spent thirty years going to those places, not to document them from a distance, but to be received by them. That is what I hope to pass on.
I lead these expeditions to share what thirty years have given me, and because that same curiosity about what this magnificent world has to offer still sharpens how I see. I would be thrilled to have you with me.
